At a recent Committee meeting consideration was given to altering the format of the county Championship, to reflect more the structure of the membership and to encourage entry to the Championship. It was agreed that the Championship would be played as follows:-
Championship: 8 best scratch scores
Bronze: 4 best scratch scores for 21+ handicaps
Handicap: 8 best nett scores regardless of handicap.
To be run as follows:
Monday: qualifying rounds
Tuesday am: 4 championship matches
2 bronze semi-finals
4 handicap matches
Tuesday pm: 2 championship matches
2 handicap matches
Wednesday am: bronze final
Wednesday pm: championship final
Championship and bronze matches to take precedence.
The annual lunch was held at Douglas Park Golf Club on Sunday 24th February. Thanks to Douglas Park for a lovely meal, to Sheila Tollan for the challenging quiz and Karen Maxwell for the Irish Bingo
The Annual Lunch will be held on Sunday 24th February 2019 at Douglas Park Golf Club, 12.30 pm for 1pm. Tickets are £16 and are available through your club or from committee members.
At the AGM in October, it was agreed to increase the handicap limit to 30. If any member knows of anyone that falls into this category and would be interested in joining please direct them to the joining link on the web page or put them in contact with a committee member.
